Now inviting New Jersey mosques to our pilot
Mosque giving, receipts, and board reports, in one place.
MasjidHQ brings online, cash, and check gifts into one place, sends receipts to your donors, and gives your board numbers it can trust.
No MasjidHQ fee during the pilot. Stripe’s processing fees apply.
- Gifts go to your mosque’s own Stripe account
- Export your data any time
- Month-to-month, no long contract
- No ad trackers, and we never sell data
Mosque giving has become a patchwork
A card reader in the lobby. An online form. The box after Friday prayer. Zelle transfers and checks dropped off at the office. Each one keeps its own records, so the treasurer stitches them together in a spreadsheet, and the board gets a total that is hard to check.

MasjidHQ is built for the people who do this work: the treasurer who counts the collection after Friday prayer, and the board that has to sign off on the numbers.
How it works
Set up once, then every gift has a place
-
Connect your mosque’s Stripe account
Your mosque opens a Stripe account in its own name and links it to MasjidHQ. We help with each step and set up your funds with you, including zakat.
-
Share your giving page
Donors give by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank transfer, once or monthly. Each gift goes to the fund the donor chooses, and a receipt follows by email.
-
Record cash and checks, then report
Volunteers enter cash, check, and Zelle gifts. MasjidHQ keeps one record of every gift and turns it into reports your board can check.
- Donor
- Stripe’s secure payment page
- Your mosque’s Stripe account
- Your mosque’s bank account
The money never passes through MasjidHQ.
What MasjidHQ does
The treasurer’s work, in one place
-
Online giving
A giving page in your mosque’s name. Donors give by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or bank transfer, once or monthly, and can choose to cover the fees.
-
Receipts
A numbered receipt is emailed after each successful gift, in wording your treasurer approves. If a gift is refunded or disputed, its receipt is voided.
-
Cash, checks, and Zelle
Record each collection as a batch counted by two people. Checks and Zelle gifts are saved with the donor’s name, so those donors get receipts too.
-
Funds and zakat
Keep general, zakat, building, and other funds apart. Zakat is always a restricted fund, processing fees are never taken from it, and your mosque’s scholar decides how it is used.
-
Daily check against Stripe
Every day, MasjidHQ checks its records against Stripe and flags anything that doesn’t match.
-
Today list
One list of what needs attention: failed monthly gifts, pending bank transfers, open batches, bounced emails, disputes, and first-time donors to thank.
-
Board reports
A one-page report for each board meeting. Every number traces back to the gifts behind it.
-
Year-end statements
In January, send each donor one statement of the year’s giving, including cash, check, and Zelle gifts.
-
Import and export
Bring in your donor list from a spreadsheet, with a preview first and undo for 7 days. Export all your data as CSV at any time.
MasjidHQ is in its pilot, and some features arrive during the pilot. Before your mosque commits, we’ll show you what’s ready.
Fees
Bank transfers keep more of each gift
Stripe charges a processing fee on every payment. A gift by bank transfer costs your mosque far less than the same gift by card.
| Payment method | Stripe’s fee | Your mosque receives |
|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer (ACH) 0.8%, capped at $5 | $5.00 | $995.00 |
| Card 2.9% + 30¢ | $29.30 | $970.70 |
Stripe may also charge $1.50 to verify a new bank account. Bank transfers can take up to 4 business days to arrive. Stripe sets its own fees, and Stripe’s pricing page has the current rates.
Security and privacy
Your donors’ trust comes first
- Card and bank details go only to Stripe. We never see full card numbers.
- Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
- No ad trackers or location data, and we never sell or rent data.
- Sign-in by emailed link or code, plus an authenticator app for owners and treasurers.
- Four roles, so each person sees only what their job needs. Board viewers see totals and reports, not donor contact details.
- Export all your data at any time. Ask us to delete it, and we’ll confirm in writing.
Questions mosques ask
Does MasjidHQ ever hold our mosque’s money?
No. Gifts go straight to your mosque’s own Stripe account, and Stripe pays them out to your mosque’s bank account. MasjidHQ never holds donor funds. If you stop using MasjidHQ, your Stripe account stays with your mosque.
What does MasjidHQ cost?
There is no MasjidHQ fee during the pilot. Stripe’s processing fees apply, as they would for any card or bank payment. Before the pilot ends, we’ll agree with your board on what happens next, and MasjidHQ never charges a fee without a written agreement.
Do we have to change everything at once?
No. You can start with online giving and receipts, then add cash and check batches when you’re ready. The ways your mosque receives gifts today keep working while you switch.
How do you handle zakat?
Zakat is always kept as a restricted fund, separate from general donations, and processing fees are never taken from it. Your mosque’s scholar decides how zakat is collected and spent. MasjidHQ makes no religious rulings.
Are the receipts good for taxes?
Receipts include the details the IRS asks for in Publication 1771, such as your mosque’s name, the amount given, and whether anything was given in return. Your treasurer approves the wording, and your mosque’s accountant has the final say. We don’t give tax advice.
Our volunteers aren’t technical. Will they manage?
MasjidHQ is built for volunteers. We set it up with you, give your team a short training, and check in every week during the pilot. If something is confusing, tell us and we’ll make it clearer.
What happens to our data if we leave?
It’s your data. Export everything as CSV at any time, including donors, gifts, fund allocations, and receipts. Your Stripe account and its payment history stay with your mosque. When you ask, we delete your data and confirm in writing.
