Policies
Refunds, cancellations, and disputes
Last updated October 9, 2026
These policies explain how refunds, monthly gifts, disputes, and cancellations work for donors who give through a MasjidHQ giving page and for mosques that use MasjidHQ.
These policies apply during MasjidHQ’s pilot. We’ll update them after legal review, and the date above will change.
For donors
When you give through a MasjidHQ giving page, your gift goes to the mosque, not to MasjidHQ. The mosque receives the payment on its own Stripe account.
Refunds
Because your gift is made to the mosque, the mosque decides on refunds. To ask for one, contact the mosque directly. If you can’t reach the mosque, email hello@masjidhq.net and we’ll pass your request on.
An approved refund goes back to the card or bank account you paid with. Refunds usually take 5 to 10 business days to reach your account.
When a gift is refunded, its receipt is voided. If only part of a gift is refunded, you’ll receive a new receipt for the amount you kept.
Monthly gifts
To change or cancel a monthly gift, use the link in your receipt email or contact the mosque.
Cancelling stops future gifts. It doesn’t refund gifts already made; for those, see Refunds above.
Disputes
If you see a charge you don’t recognize, please contact the mosque before disputing it with your bank or card issuer. A dispute costs the mosque a fee from Stripe, even when it is resolved.
If you do open a dispute, the gift’s receipt is voided.
Receipts
After each successful gift, you receive a receipt by email, in wording the mosque’s treasurer has approved. For a bank transfer, the receipt is sent when the payment completes, which can take up to 4 business days.
For a copy or a correction, contact the mosque.
For mosques
Fees
There is no MasjidHQ fee during the pilot. Stripe charges your mosque its processing fees on each payment, as listed on Stripe’s pricing page.
When a gift is refunded, Stripe doesn’t return its processing fee.
When a donor disputes a gift, Stripe charges your mosque a $15 dispute fee that isn’t returned. If you contest the dispute, Stripe charges another $15, which it returns if you win. A failed bank transfer costs $4.
These are Stripe’s fees, not ours, and Stripe may change them.
Disputes
Disputes appear on your Today list in MasjidHQ, and the gift’s receipt is voided. You respond in your Stripe Dashboard, where Stripe explains the evidence it needs. We can help you prepare it.
Cancellation
Your mosque can stop using MasjidHQ at any time by emailing hello@masjidhq.net. Terms are month-to-month, with no long contract.
Before you leave, export your data as CSV. Your Stripe account, and the payment history in it, stays with your mosque.
After you leave, we delete your mosque’s data when you ask, and we confirm in writing when it’s done.
If your mosque has signed an agreement with us, the agreement applies where it differs from this page.
Pilot offer
Mosques accepted into the MasjidHQ pilot pay no MasjidHQ fee for the period set in their pilot agreement. The offer doesn’t cover Stripe’s processing fees, which your mosque pays to Stripe. MasjidHQ never starts charging a fee without your mosque’s written agreement.
The pilot is open to a small number of New Jersey mosques, chosen by MasjidHQ after a fit check.
Where we operate
MasjidHQ serves mosques in the United States, starting with New Jersey. Giving pages accept payments in US dollars.
